Who is Jonathan Tukel?

In 2003, Mr. Tukel left the Detroit U.S. Attorney's office to become an Associate Deputy Attorney General under his friend, former Deputy Attorney General Larry D. Thompson.

That same year, he was sent back to Detroit to be the First Assistant U.S. Attorney and one of his duties was to damage the credibility of Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard Convertino and help to undermine the 2003 Detroit terrorism convictions.

Ironically, Jonathan Tukel is now Chief of the National Security Unit in the United States Attorney’s office, Eastern District of Michigan, supervising the counter-terrorism and terrorist-financing programs.

Tukel is now trying to protect his involvement in the Privacy Act violation against Rick Convertino.
